"It is not your job to save everyone. Some people are not even ready to be helped. Focus on being of service to those who are, and be wise and humble enough to know when the best service you can offer is to guide them toward help in another direction." - Anna Taylor

Bhartiya Netraheen Kalyan Parishad is a registered NGO. It came into existence on 28 February 1996 with its registration under Societies Registration Act.Right from its inception, it is working perenially and unhindered for holistic and all round development of the persons with special needs especially visually impaired....We have set up a goal of making each and every person with special needs self-reliant and instilling in him/her a feeling of self dignity, pride and aplomb so that all of them can be capable of associating themselves with national main stream and they can contribute to the development of nation. Education is the pivot around which development of a country takes place. In other words we can say that it is education alone on the basis of which human development index of a country depends. So, in this direction we are making significant and substantial efforts. Our Parishad is undertaking resendetial bridge course for visually impaired children under age group 6-14 years. It is being done in collaboration with Bihar Shiksha Pariyojana under SSA. These centres for residential bridge course are located at Bhagalpur, Shekhpura, Lakhisarai and Begusarai districts of Bihar. These children are getting education in life skills, elementary academics, mobility instruction and daily life experiences. Our main motto is to include these children in social life after this basic instruction so that they can have feeling of being an integral part of the society. In the hostel BNKPRI is also running a library for visually impaired. This library is having brail books of various subjects and audio CDs . Every year BNKPRI organized plethora of events like marriages of visually challenged couples, Hellen Keller Day, White Cane Day, World Disability Day, Kavi Sammelan, Dance Program of visually challenged etc. A national poetry recitation program in collaboration with Dinkar Society, Delhi is organised every year on the birth anniversary of national poet Shri. Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. Idea is to instill confidence and motivate visually challenged poets to weave poems and share the dias with poet of national repute. Basic aim of BNKPRI is to work for the holistic development of visually challenged and inclusively rehabilitate them with the mainstream society.

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken
up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the
depths of truth;
Where tireless striving
stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason
has not lost its way into the
dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward
by thee into ever widening
thought and actioninto that heaven of freedom,
my father, let my country awake.
